Salary Peek, the Chrome extension and this website. Last updated 8 October 2026.
What Salary Peek does
On SEEK job pages it shows each job's salary range. When a job's salary isn't stored yet, your browser works it out using SEEK's own salary filter, and the answer is saved so nobody has to work it out again.
What we store
- About jobs: the SEEK job id, job title, advertiser name, the salary range or salary text, and when it was checked.
- About lookups: a log of each lookup (which job, whether it found a salary, how long it took, how many SEEK requests it used, any error) so we can keep the service working.
- A random browser id: made by the extension when it is installed (for example
3f2c…). It is not linked to your name, email, SEEK account or anything else about you. We use it to share work between browsers and to stop abuse. - The extension version and, on our servers, standard request logs that can include your IP address, kept by our hosting provider (Vercel) for a short period.
What we never collect
- Your name, email, SEEK login, CV, applications, saved searches or anything you type on SEEK.
- Your browsing on any site other than SEEK job pages. The extension only runs on seek.com.au.
- We don't sell or share data with advertisers, and there are no ads or trackers.
Where it is kept
Job and lookup data is stored in a Postgres database (Neon) and served by Vercel. Your browser also keeps a local copy of salaries it has seen, which you can clear by removing the extension.
How long
Salary data is kept while it is useful. Lookup logs are deleted after 90 days.
Not affiliated with SEEK
